Sacred Lagoon access & walking conditions
High-altitude walk
The reserve is around 3,100 metres above sea level. Expect a moderately demanding walk with stone or cobbled sections, steps and inclines. Surfaces may be wet. Comfortable shoes, layers and rain protection are recommended.
CAR-led reserve group
Inside the reserve, visitors must remain with a group accompanied by a CAR guide. This required reserve interpretation is separate from your Bogotá Car Service driver.
Current access rules
Opening days, entry processes, parking and final local transfers can change. We verify practical arrangements before departure and build the route around current conditions.
Important reserve rules: current official guidance restricts food and beverages, pets, single-use plastics and drones inside the protected area. Restroom facilities are available before the trail rather than along it. The reserve is normally unavailable on its first working day of the week, but schedules should always be reconfirmed.
